Some weddings don’t just mark a new chapter, they set a new standard. Charlie and Eddie’s day was one of those rare celebrations where every detail, from the flowers to the dress, spoke of the deep-rooted love for each other but also the couples shared values and the planet.

A Love Story Rooted in Sustainability
Charlie, known to many for her Instagram handle @lifebeforeplastic, is a passionate sustainability content creator and campaigner. She lives and breathes her values, inspiring thousands to tread more lightly on the planet. So, when she reached out to me with a special request, I knew this would be no ordinary commission.
In true Charlie style, she wanted her wedding florals to tell a story, not just of romance, but of resourcefulness. Her fiancé Eddie had gifted her a dried flower bouquet for their anniversary, and she wanted to repurpose that same bouquet into her wedding day. It was a beautiful way to honour both their love and their commitment to living sustainably.

Crafting with Intention
Charlie asked me to create a flower crown that would complement her bouquet. I gathered locally grown strawflowers, British dried oats, and off-cuts from larger Luna and Wild designs every stem chosen for its beauty, meaning, and minimal footprint. To finish, I added a hand-dyed silk ribbon.
The result was a piece as unique as Charlie herself: wild, joyful, and deeply conscious of its impact.
Every Detail Matters
Sustainability was at the heart of every decision Charlie and Eddie made. Their wedding venue, This Green Moon, shared that the entire celebration generated just one and a half bin liners of waste, which is in a world were weddings are renowned for creating a huge amount of waste is a testament to Charlie and Eddies values. Charlie’s dress, crafted by Poppy Perspective, was made from reclaimed lace, and every element of the day was either handmade, second-hand, or recycled.
