From Aisle to Home: What to Do With Your Dried Flower Accessories After Your Wedding

Once your wedding day is over, the photos are rolling in, and your dried flower crown, or hair comb and buttonhole are too beautiful to be hidden away in a box...

Here's the good news: dried flower accessories are designed to last and to live on in your lives long after the wedding day.  With a little care, they can become part of your home a practical keepsake for years to come.

Here are some of my favourite ways to give your dried flowers a second life.

First: a quick care check (so they stay looking beautiful)

Before you choose a forever home for your blooms:

  • Choose a dry place: Avoid rooms like bathrooms and steamy kitchens where temperatures fluctuate and moisture hangs in the air.
  • Avoid direct sunlight: This can fade colour over time and shorten the life of your blooms.
  • Handle gently: Dried flowers are sturdy, but they're not indestructible and the natural oils in our hands can cause discolouration when over-handled.
  • Dust lightly: Use a soft makeup brush or cool hairdryer on low to keep dust away.

If youre not ready to display them straight away, store them in a box airtight box to keep them safe.

1) Frame your flower crown or hair accessory

A frame (or shadow box) transforms your hair piece into art and it's such a lovely way to incorporate your flowers easily into your home.

The Luna and Wild Flower Crown Framing Kit includes everything you need to frame your crown or headpiece, customise the mount colour to suit your home decor.

2) Create a wedding details keepsake frame

This one is for the brides who saved everything (same).

Pair your dried flower hair comb or hair pins with a few paper treasures:

  • Invitation or order of service
  • Place card
  • Menu
  • A snippet of ribbon

It's basically a flat lay but forever.

3) Pop a buttonhole into a bud vase (instant shelf magic)

Buttonholes are tiny, perfect, and wildly underrated.

Perfect for displaying on your bedside table, bookshelf, or windowsill.

A small vase (like the Sass and Belle Ombre vase pictured) is the ideal size to house a buttonhole and they're available in multiple colours sure to suit the colour scheme in one of the rooms in your home, shop my range of vases here

4) Wear them again

Your wedding accessories don't have to be for one day only.

Here are a few occasions some of my past brides have reworn their accessories:

  • A festival or summer party
  • An anniversary dinner
  • A maternity photoshoot

The loveliest part of dried flowers?

They're not just pretty. They're practical, sustainable, and full of story.

So whether you frame them, vase them or rewear them, your dried flower accessories can keep whispering little reminders of your special day.
